Bivigam is a biologic, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) drug used to treat primary immunodeficiency (PI) disease.
People with PI experience frequent and recurring infections because they lack healthy infection-fighting proteins in their blood called antibodies. Bivigam contains a highly-concentrated broad spectrum of immunoglobulin antibodies derived from healthy human blood, which helps PI patients fight off serious bacterial and viral infections.
Bivigam is administered intravenously once every 3 to 4 weeks. The dose depends on age and body weight.
