Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a nerve disorder characterized by numbness, tingling sensations, loss of reflexes, inflammation, and muscle weakness in the arms and legs that worsen over time. It is caused by the deterioration of myelin sheath, which is the fatty covering that protects nerve fibers.
